5 reasons why you should use Lubuntu

I have been using lubuntu since 2013, and im still using it right now for daily use, lubuntu is a great operating system that works for me. There are many linux distribution out there, but heres top 5 reasons why somebody should use lubuntu. I hope this article could help someone choosing their first linux.

1. You have an old hardware

Lubuntu is called lightweight ubuntu for a reason, it requires minimum hardware specs, such as 512 MB of RAM (1 GB recommended), old CPU with slow clock speed, and 2 GB of storage. So if you have an old machine then its a good reason to use lubuntu as operating system.

2. Your computer cant run the latest ubuntu release

I have an intel celeron M laptop it wont run ubuntu 16.04, the last ubuntu that it can run is ubuntu version 7.10, my celeron M laptop cant run the latest ubuntu release. If you having this situation then its a good reason why you should use lubuntu.  

3. You want something simple

Lubuntu comes with LXDE desktop environment which in my opinion has the most simple and minimalist desktop compared with other ubuntu flavors. This one of the reason i use lubuntu, i just love the simplicity. So if you dont need a fancy desktop, you just need a simple one, then its a good reason why you should use lubuntu.

4. You want something fast

We know that lubuntu is good with old hardware, but when you run it on newer and more powerful hardware, you got speed and great performance. So its a good reason also to use lubuntu when you have newer or more powerful hardware.

5. You are coming from windows

If you are previously a windows user, i think it will much easier for you to use lubuntu, because lubuntu has desktop layout similar to windows with start menu in the bottom left corner of the screen. The menu on lubuntu start menu also easy to navigate, the LXDE desktop may not be 100% look like windows but i think it will helps for those who used to work on a windows operating system.

Thats it, that is my top 5 reasons why somebody should use lubuntu, those are just my personal opinion, you can agree or disagree, im totally fine.
